Employment Coaching

We offer individual appointments to assist you with your job search. Help is provided with creating or updating your resume, interviews, career choices including the Myers-Briggs Test as well as how to get the word out and network.

Career Closet

The Career Closet offers free career appropriate clothing and accessories  for job interviews and the first week on the job. The Closet is open fromMonday to Thursday 9am-4pm. Identification required.

Computer Classes

Our Basic Computer Classes offer training to help you become more comfortable with technology with an introduction to e-mail, the Internet, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.  Please call 914-747-6797for information on classes and possible one on one tutoring.

One Hour Individual Counseling:

Boost your confidence and trust in yourself to prepare for a successful job search. Sessions available in Spanish.

The Myers-Briggs Test:

Identifies your skills, interests and values so you can focus on what will give you the greatest success and satisfaction.

Networking:

Opportunities to network with other women in the community by attending “New” Networking Enrichment for Women, special events and support groups.

Computer Classes:

Learn the basics of Excel and Word in a stress free environment.

Career Closet:

Obtain professional clothing for women going on job interviews or starting a new job.

Suncoast Workforce Mobile Unit:

On site at the WRC on the  3rd Monday of each month, from 9:30am – 12pm. Everyone is welcome to use the services of Suncoast Workforce on site. You can apply for unemployment, welfare assistance as well as get connected with job search Florida, one of the most comprehensive web based job data bases for the state of Florida. All services are available at NO COST to job seekers.

Facilitators

Jay Lemmel, BBA has over twenty years experience in Career Counseling and Job Search Coaching, including 10 years with the world’s largest outplacement consulting firm as a Senior Consultant. His success is based on well-developed skills in assessing, training, coaching and developing people.

The Women’s Resource Center offers access to a Career Closet where free career appropriate clothing  and accessories are available for those women who are attending job interview or have just secured a job and need work attire.

In addition to the Career Closet we also have a resale store called the Unique Boutique that offers very affordable, gently used clothing and accessories for sale.

The Career Closet is open Monday to Thursday from 9am until 4 pm.

Emotional Wellbeing

Counselling

Available by appointment with licensed Mental Health Counsellors.

Each session is $40 with a sliding fee scale available if needed.

Do you need somewhere to share your thoughts, problems or issues? Is your life more of a melodrama then the romantic comedy you had dreamed of?  Do you just need help with relationship questions or family issues? A new support group where your input could reap solutions, ideas, solace and friendship for your and your fellow group members.  Facilitated by Phyllis Tropp MSW LCSW.

Celebrating the Latina Culture, this  open group facilitated by Maria Zavala welcomes everyone to a circle of friendship and giving.
The format is designed to help you look at yourself, your culture and your work life in a holistic, self-loving & self-respectful way.

RelationshipsAn ongoing educational support group in collaboration with HOPE Family Services about setting boundaries in relationships, making safe & healthy decisions for yourself and understanding the wide range of abusive & controlling relationships.
