The Women’s Resource is dedicated to providing direction to women of all generations by inspiring, educating and supporting them through life’s transitions. Each month, more than 250 women arrive at the door of the Women’s Resource Center seeking help. Just like all of us have experienced at one time or another, they have reached one of life’s turning points. Unsure or unable to determine a direction, they come to us seeking a fresh start. Whether coping with difficult family relationships, adjusting to a career change, concerned about financial security, grieving the loss of a loved one, or simply seeking opportunities for personal growth – we are here to help them on their personal journey.
Every week at the Center you can participate in a variety of programs such as individual, couples and group counseling, career coaching, informational workshops/seminars, yoga classes, computer classes and more. Women’s Resource Centers of Manatee and Sarasota County Confirm Merger.
The Women’s Resource Center has provided programs and services to women in Sarasota County for over 35 years and for over 25 years in Manatee County. Our mission is to create personal, social and professional growth opportunities for women and provide strategies for living that strengthen them and their families. We believe when you empower a woman, you change a life and strengthen our community.
We are grateful for the support of our donors and funders including our local community foundations: Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, and the Manatee Community Foundation.
A significant funder during the merger process has been The Patterson Foundation. The Patterson Foundation (TPF) has supported the Women’s Resource Center over the years as we have explored ways in which we can work with our nonprofit partners to leverage our strengths. Recognizing the power of collaborations, TPF provided consultants and facilitation expertise throughout the merger negotiations.
Our gratitude and thanks to The Patterson Foundation for allowing us this amazing opportunity to Learn. Share. Connect. Evolve and Strengthen.Best wishes
