Employment

Employment Coaching – individual appointments to assist you with your job search. Help provided with resumes, interviews, career choices and networking.

Career Closet – free clothing for job interviews and the first week on the job. Monday to Thursday 9am-4pm. Identification required.

Computer Classes – basic computer training to help you become more comfortable with technology. Introduction to e-mail, the Internet, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Open Computer Lab - Come in and use our computers to fill out job applications, work on your resume or use the internet. Facilitator will be present for questions. First come, first serve. Feel free to bring your laptop.

Explore the primary methods of finding a job in this “hidden” market.

One hour individual counseling: Boost your confidence and trust in yourself to prepare for a successful job search. Sessions available in Spanish.

The Myers-Briggs Test: Identifies your skills, interests and values so you can focus on what will give you the greatest success and satisfaction.

Networking: Opportunities to network with other women in the community by attending "New" Networking Enrichment for Women, special events and support groups.

Computer Classes: Learn the basics of Excel and Word in a stress free environment.

FACILITATORS

JAY LEMMEL, BBA has over twenty years experience in Career Counseling and Job Search Coaching, including 10 years with the world’s largest outplacement consulting firm as a Senior Consultant. His success is based on well-developed skills in assessing, training, coaching and developing people.

IRENE RODARTE, graduate of Stanford University in California, has extensive experience in personnel recruitment, selection and placement; training and coaching new supervisors and managers; and consulting for executives and managers in the area of performance management.


Emotional Wellbeing

Individual Counseling with licensed Mental Health Counselors. By appointment. Each session is $30 with a sliding fee scale available if needed.

Life Transitions Towards Self Esteem Weekly support group, Thursdays. 5:30-7 PM.  Weekly support group led by Sandy Galleghar, that deals with issues of self-esteem, change and moving forward. Join anytime. $2 Fee  requested

Latina Self-Empowerment Group – Open group facilitated by Maria Zavala. Designed to help you look at yourself, your culture & your work life in a holistic, self-loving & self-respectful way. Join anytime and learn to live up to your fullest potential. $2 Fee  requested

Relationships

Evaluating Unhealthy Relationships - An ongoing educational support group in collaboration with HOPE Family Services about setting boundaries in relationships, making safe & healthy decisions for yourself and understanding the wide range of abusive & controlling relationships. Call Jill at 747-8499 to register.

Ask a Parenting Specialist – One-on-one coaching by appointment with a Certified Parenting Instructor. Create harmony in your own home by using proven techniques to address parenting issues and family conflict. This is an opportunity for personal attention to figure out how to build and create the home environment you want.


Community & Networking

Book Club – Fiction groups meet the first Thursday of the month in the afternoon at 1pm or the evening at 7pm.

Yoga – Open classes $8 per class, $5 for members

Power Yoga  Tuesdays - 5:30-6:30pm   Vigorous workout not recommended for beginners. Instructor: Kathy Penkwitz

Intermediate Yoga Wednesdays - 5:30-6:30pm. This class will be fun and relaxing, a great way to stay in shape. Open to all levels. Instructor: Trisha Haddad

Beginners Yoga Saturday - 9-10am -  Relaxing class good for beginners and those dealing with stress. Instructor: Andy Sicking

Restyled Rags – A unique clothing boutique in downtown Bradenton 417 12 ST West 750-0032. All proceeds support the WRC. Open Monday - Friday, 10-4pm. Saturdays 9-1pm.

"NEW" Networking Enrichment for Women – Quarterly gathering of women for refreshments, networking and an interesting speaker

Women's Giving Circle of Manatee– meet once a month to discuss small community projects that make a difference. Contact Marianne Moyer at marianne.moyer@verizon.net

Girls Night Out – Monthly opportunity to meet new people and shop at our unique clothing boutique.  Refreshments and special presentations. first Thursday of the month, 5:30-7pm.

Divorce

Divorce and the Legal Process – Presented by attorney Susana Gonzalez. Topics include immediate steps to take to protect yourself, alternatives to divorce, filing for divorce, the litigation process and determining how much it will cost. $5 donation, pre registration requested.

Divorce and Your Financial Future – Presented by Arlene Moore CFP and Certified Divorce Planner who looks at financial issues raised during the divorce negotiations such as housing, pensions & credit. $5 donation, pre registration requested.

Coping with Dirvorce and Separation  - Presented by counselor Sandy Galleghar of Family Resources. Focus on the emotional aspects, before during and after divorce.  $5 donation, pre registration requested.

Self-Representation -
Facilitated by Arlean Adekoya. Gain a step by step understanding of the filing process and what to expect when you represent yourself in Family Court and learn what resources are available to assist you in the filing and processing of your case when you don’t have a lawyer representing you in your divorce. Call for more information.
